Referral terms

How is the business referral fee set?

Your fee is agreed in writing before we contact the business, up to $100,000 per referral. It is typically a share of the first license value. The referral agreement sets the amount, timing and conditions.

When do I get paid?

For businesses, after the referred firm signs its license and receives its first payment. For experts, after the person you referred completes 40 approved hours on a project.

Who can I refer?

Any firm that might qualify: at least a year of operations, ten or more people at some point, and clear rights to its records. For experts, anyone with real professional depth in an engineering or science field.

Do I need a relationship with the business?

A warm introduction helps, but it is not required. Many of our best referrals come from former employees, investors, advisors and accountants who know a firm is winding down.

What if the business is already talking to Lunchbreak?

Referrals are credited to the first person who submits a business that is not already in conversation with us. We confirm attribution by email within two business days.

Is there a limit to how many people I can refer?

No. Refer as many firms and experts as you like.
